Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5-6
Observations
The world is fast becoming a scary place with all these "Wars and rumors of wars" going around. People are killing themselves right and left with drugs and the Middle East is a powder keg fixing to blow any minute. There are terrorist and devils homegrown and otherwise and a person just doesn't know what to think or do. I am an old woman..but not a stupid one and I've learned a little through the years when I was able to keep my eyes open and my mouth shut.
Fear is counterproductive and pointless, either we trust God or we don't..let's be honest, sometimes bad things happen to good people. When these things happen it doesn't mean God has let us down it is simply part of the journey and one way or another He will take you through the situation.
Try not to be afraid, fear has brought more people down than you can know. Don't entertain fearful thoughts, push them aside with other things stay busy, pray, but don't allow fear into your life... Things will probably turn out better than you think, if not, worry won't help one bit. Psalm 46:2 NIV "Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea." Sometimes you have to shut your eyes, grab hold of Jesus hand and ride out you storm.
One of the other things I have seen is that it's better to not be to rich, because if you are to rich you depend on what you have and forget about God..You spend to much time worrying about hanging on to things that cannot last anyway. Proverbs 11:28 tells us "Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf." Yet paradoxically it's also better not to be to poor...if you are to poor you might become bitter and tempted to steal. In (Matt. 6:19-21) Jesus said "If you’re living for the things of this world, you’ll be tempted to steal to get those things if the opportunity presents itself." God promised to supply our needs and we can trust Him for that if we do our part. I heard a lady say one time that God hates laziness, I don't have Scripture for that but she is probably right.
Also I believe it's better not to be to beautiful...beautiful people tend to measure their worth in terms of their beauty and we humans are much more valuable than that. It is better not to get to focused on ourselves anyway. "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."Proverbs 31:30
There's something else, It's better not to be to gifted or to smart..People like that have to struggle with pride, and that is one of the seven deadly sins, (Look it up). There is value in hard work..(my Daddy taught me that)..we need certain abilities but it's better if we have to work to accomplish our goals. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;" Proverbs 3:5
We need to be strong, but only strong enough to lift the weak, if we are praised to much for our strength we forget it's purpose and we worship strength itself. Psalm 82:3"Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed."
We should endeavor to understand the value of the little golden moments of our lives. The beauty of the sky, time with our child, good food, the smell of coffee in the morning. These moments pass to quickly, enjoy them while you can.
Remember sometimes God allows us to get broken so he can mend us an make us better don't get mad just bough your head and walk through it...We are all moving quickly towards a conclusion of some sort. Consider carefully what you do and what you will at last regret. It's been a passable year..I've seen better but I've seen a lot worse. The new year lays before us like a book we haven't read yet we will see how it unfolds..What can we do but take the first step forward..God's still in His heaven and He is in control...Jirehsgirl
The measure of a man is not his muscles or money.
The true strength of a man is most evident when,
his soul shines and no one is looking.
